About Troop 35 Minimize

Scouting and Troop 35 endeavor to develop American citizens who are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a high-degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage and resourcefulness; and have the highest personal values.

Troop 35 was charted to the Church of the Redeemer and began with 17 boys in November 1933. Since then there has been many active leaders whose involvement with the troop spanned 50 years. Troop 35 offers diverse activities, all of which aim to develop young men into good citizens who function well as team members but who can also stand out as good leaders. The troop owes much success to its practice of building on parental involvement, signified by a "Parent Contract" encouraging a common level of support for the boys. Among the activities that distinguish Troop 35 are at least eight overnight campouts each year, the annual 40-Miler hike, an all-night sleep off, an annual family ski trip and Troop 35's unique Camp E-Star, a two week summer camp program led by our Eagle Scouts.
